Jan has lived in Abergavenny for over 30 years so appreciates the unique atmosphere and beauty of the area.
During her teaching career she realised the importance of decent education for all, providing opportunities for learning in many forms and the chance to experience new things; a philosophy she sees and wants to continue in Abergavenny Arts Festival.
Jan is an experienced textile artist who runs her own business Textiles at The Weir at her smallholding just outside the town. Her work is inspired by the Welsh countryside.
