The Boy From the Big Hill
Martin will be hosting the collaborative project that combines art, music, stories and poems connecting the life, times, history and legends that bond the spirit and character of the area.
He will kick off the festival on Friday 28thJune , 7pm – 9pm with a special event involving the artist and musicians involved, for a meet and greet with the possibility of a live performance of some of the music from the CD.
The Artist– the renowned Welsh Artist Goff Danter, is recognised as being amongst the most sought after and collectable painters in the contemporary art market and has a permanent display at the gallery, but for this event there will be specific artworks relating to the project.
The Music – captures a place or moment in time in the history of the area through beautifully crafted songs and musical soundscapes composed by:
Rob Parrett: a successful, prolific and creative music writer for TV, film and major record companies worldwide and also a renowned solo artist.
Huw Simmonds: a naturally original guitarist with a talent for clever, subtly emotional wordplay.
(The album features special guest musicians including: Huw Williams, Phil Capaldi, Dan James, Adam Daffurn, Ted Edwards and Ian Britton).
Martins Gallery has an eclectic mix of work by professional artists from across the UK, with buyers travelling from all over the country to seek out their work.
